Complaint to Azerbaijani journalists regarding foreign languages: "They cannot handle it"

Blogging and the activity of Azerbaijani bloggers have been discussed on "Towards the solution" talk show of Azerbaijan Television (AzTV).

Journalist Aygun Muradkhanli has said that information circulated by bloggers should not be accepted as news: "Any information can be accepted as news only after official confirmation. It does not mean that we are against bloggers. Surely, the existence of various opinions promotes freedom of opinion." 

Editor-in-chief of the "Azxeber.com" Hajibay Heydarli has noted that the blogging activity is carried out mainly via social media: "They are columnists. We cannot expect news from bloggers." 

Employee of the "Bakı xəbər" (Baku news) newspaper Mahammadali Garibli has emphasized that there are a few professional journalists and bloggers who can enter the international arena: "There are a few journalists who can write in 3 languages. Those, who can, leave journalism. Websites, which deliver news in several languages, cannot handle it professionally. Most of the news is translated through "Google Translate".

Head of the "New era" Media Group Agil Alasgar has said that Azerbaijani journalists enter the world media due to their personal connections: "We are behind in terms of cooperation with foreign media. Relations are only of personal nature."
